For individual wellbeing, you may have to find your own “fit” solutions, based on life situation and personal values. Wellness attitude matters a great deal, as health start with mindset.
Five-Pointer Wellness Attitude
Listen to your body – If you are not aware of your body senses and feelings may be cut off from an important life source. What your mind want and what your body need may not be the same. What happens when mind, body and spirit are disconnected? You feel lost, fearful, insecure, fatigue, may also experience depression and pain. What’s the difference when mind, body, and spirit are harmonized? You feel calm, in control, energetic, and hopeful. Be conscious about your body needs, connect your mind with body, and keep up your spirits.
Be open-minded and flexible – the “un-known” is acceptable; being aware that we can’t totally control life. Are you living at the present time for the fullest personal potential? Don’t have to pursuit for happiness of an ideal life, but finding your own way to live happily.
Simplify life for happiness – want for less (possessions, positions, profits, etc), focus on perusing what worth for living and gain life satisfaction.
Build strong immune systems - Illness is not always requiring medical treatment and treatments are almost always associated with risks. About 30% illnesses will naturally heal; another 30% are not treatable; for the rest, only proper medical interventions would benefit health.
Healthy body weight - Body weight does not tell about your health. Each person has a biological baseline weight. Not everyone can survive at 120 lb ideal weight. Care your body and nurture it to perform your personal best. Create your own healthy body image.
Special notes for individuals and families who are coping with illness: focusing on quality of life is more important than “cure” the disease. The five-pointer are essential for your mindset adjustment. Illness is part of human life and we all have natural capacity to recover or adapt. You are free to live with your normal life style and enjoy your favorite things. Take one step at a time to resolve complicated issues. Reserve your rights for choosing the best medical decision for yourself (or loved ones). You can count on compassionate support from Quality Life Forum and many other resources.
