Health doesn't come guaranteed; it require maintenance. Your health is too important to ignore. You want to renew knowledge and overcome challenges as life goes on.

Healthy habits are learned and nurtured. New health behaviors, one small change at a time, will continue improving your well-being. Hope  Quality Life Forum will be your mentor for healthy life style motivation and be your resource for coping with illness. Don't take health for granted. Denial and procrastination are human natural tendencies, but your health is too important to ignore!  Let’s face it and find a solution for your health issues. Life will be more enjoyable.

When you are feeling ill, Quality Life Forum will offer help and support for coping. Everyone is facing challenges at different stages of life and pursuit for best health state possible. Stay connected, informed, and actively involved in self-care and health care decision making, which matters for life and quality of life.  It takes critical thinking to make critical decisions; it requires knowledge, motivation, and efforts.  You are entitled for the optimal health benefit and to be respected for personal values, preference, and will.

My Story: A New Chapter in Life

In memory of my deceased sister, QualityLifeForum.net was born in 2015.  My sister would be pleased to know that her course of illness and sad experiences would benefit others in many ways, i.e., to optimize self-care, overcome challenges in coping with illness, and engage in personal medical care management and health decision making.

My sister had non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She was treated with chemotherapy and doing very well. She was full of life and worked full time for 13 years after the diagnosis, up to the time she was persuaded to undergo a bone marrow transplant (BMT) for “cure”. She became totally disabled and getting weaker each day afterwards as her immune system was completely destroyed by the BMT.  Consequently, complications and treatments became endless vicious cycles. The aggressive medical treatments killed her cancer and also took her life at age 61. In fact, her final test results revealed free of cancer but at the cost of life, but it was meaningless.  Necessary treatment vs. over-treatment results in different outcomes of life or death. It is possible to live with cancer as a chronic disease, under proper medical management. The true value is not the “cure” achievement, but life extension with best health potential.

There many cancer survivors.  My mother lived 30 years after her colon cancer surgery. She passed away at age 95 due to Altzhmimer's disease. The Altzhmimer's disease progression is devastating. Coping with dementia is very challenging and so many people are suffering.  I truly feel the pain, as gone through the tough times. I understood the mind and body during aging process from experience.

We only live once. Life is irreversible. With heartbroken sadness and grief from my family loss, I was determined to do something.  I joined the National Patient Advocate Foundation as a volunteer, to help improving the lives of patients and families. I transformed my energy from grieving to health coaching. QualityLifeForum.net is now serving the aging community as a advocate resource.  Illness and health conditions are making people vulnerable, as they often feel lost and distressed, under biased influence and persuasion, unaware of certain intentions of incentivized to overtreat, and frustrated with the complicity of health care system. They have the needs to get help and support, to be informed, educated, and resilient. They need unbiased input to assure that the medical treatment plan is truly for the best interest of the patient. They need to be empowered in self-care and making their health care decisions with confidence.

You will build confidence to find the best solutions from multiple choices in health decision making and gain self-care competence to optimize quality of life.
